BankID och Swish i vardagen
Show translation
In Sweden BankID is used almost everywhere. It is a digital ID that you have on your phone or computer. With BankID you can log in to authorities, the bank, 1177 and many companies. You can also sign contracts digitally, for example a rental contract or an employment contract. To get BankID you need a Swedish personal identity number and an account in a Swedish bank. You order BankID through your bank, often in the bank's app. The first time you often have to visit a bank branch and show valid ID, for example a passport or national ID card. Swish is a payment service linked to your mobile number and bank account. With Swish you can send money to friends, pay at flea markets or in small shops, and pay fees to associations. The money arrives immediately. You need BankID to approve each payment. Be careful! Fraudsters sometimes call and say they are from the bank or the police. They ask you to log in with BankID or read out codes. Never do that. The bank or the police never ask for your BankID over the phone. If you are unsure, hang up and call the bank yourself on the number given on the bank's website.
